Hi,

Thank you for keeping me up-to-date with your latest product developments.

One thing that would be very useful to me (as a photographer ) would be a method of being able to display images on a web page in a slide show format without having to use FLASH. The problem with FLASH is that it’s not available on all formats like ipads and iphones.

At present I use FLASH for two purposes, but of course it can only be seen by customers with PCs:-

The first is a slide show of images that fade one into another.

The second is a turning page book (wedding book) where my customers can literally turn over the pages on my website to see what their album will look like.

Do you have anything that would do either of the above, or would it be something you might be interested in developing?

Kind regards,

Alec

Hello Alec,

Thank you for your nice comments.

Please read below:

1. "The first is a slide show of images that fade one into another.

Yes, you can do this with our Likno Web Scroller Builder, except of the "Fade" effect which will be released in a couple of weeks.

For example, see/download this "eBay" example that we have here:

http://www.likno.com/jquery-scroller/example_packs.php

It now uses the "Sliding" effect but as said above we will soon release the "Fade" effect too.

You can also have the images changing automatically, through these options inside Likno Web Scroller Builder:

scroller style settings

2. There are plenty of such "books" out there but they do use FLASH. I assume you want something similar but with HTML5, correct? Did you find anything "similar"? Because HTML5 cannot do the same as Flash (yet), so you will have to compromise on the "turning page" effect. This is an interesting project but we need to see if the HTML5 compromises will give the effects that you would want. If you have any links on the web showing HTML-based books and what you would like to be different on them that would be helpful.

Hi Aris,

Many thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

Here is a link to a page on my website that shows both the FLASH wedding book and slideshow:-

http://www.aspiwedding.co.uk/wedding-photographer-alec-steventon-your-webpage.html

As you can see the slideshow is automatic once started and the slides fade into one another after a set time period. I could recreate a slide show in Java changing with a time period but I don’t know how to get the fade effect. I have little Java experience.

As to the book, well you can see what I currently do.

Being able to reproduce both of these so that they can be seen on an ipad or iphone would be an advantage.

By the way, whilst I use your menus (including sliding ones) on my clients websites, and I’m very pleased with them, I haven’t got around to putting them on to my own as yet – my clients come first!

Kind regards,

Alec

Hello Alec,

Did you try Likno Web Scroller Builder to see what you can do? There many options there to customize your slideshow to every detail.

As for the flipbook we are going to look into this, maybe it will be a plugin in Likno Web Scroller Builder.
