"Likno Web Scroller Builder Error: Positioning element "#liknoscroller_positionID" is not found in page."

What does this mean and how do i fix it?

I have uninstalled the plugin twice and published the scroller twice, once a new one and then deleted the file and republished

Hello Ben,

This error means that you have selected to populate the scroller through DIVs in your page

Scroller populated by DIV elements

But you haven't added the code that populates the scroller items in your page.

If you want to go with this option you need to add the code in your page.

You can see the Sample Code in Likno Web Scroller Builder. Copy the code that populates the scroller items.

jQuery slider sample code

In WordPress, when you add a new post (or in an existing one) after you have selected the scroller, you can paste that code.

jQuery WordPress slider code

Another way you can have your scroller is with the selection "With items inside the compiled project (js)", which means that everything will be included in your compiled file, so you don't need to add extra code to populate your items in your page. It depends on what you want to achieve with your scroller.

Initial Email Subject: Scroller does not work on swiping device
Support Case Month: August 2013

Hello,

I have a page with two scrollers. I compiled them selecting the specific option "Also scroll when swiping on touch device".

However, it does not scroll when I swipe my finger over it on my tablet (samsung 10.1).

I have tried the sample on your website and it works fine. I looked at the sample code on the Web Scroller Builder application, but I do not see any major difference.

I have tried to compile and display only one scroller on the page, I changed the transition options (continuous, by item...), none of this changed anything, it just does no scroll when using it on a tablet. Touching the arrows makes it scroll, but the swiping method does not. Can you see an obvious problem I could have missed?

Please, note that there is an automatic re-direction if you use a smartphone. In order to test this page, you have to be on a tablet, not a smartphone. Thank you.

Thank you for your help.

Stephane

Hello Stephane,

As i see you have a jquery.js in this path  {URL REMOVED}

Likno Sliders use this jquery file. This jquery file has the jQuery JavaScript Library v1.4.1

I would recommend you to update the jquery.js to jquery version 1.9.1 Make sure that all your other components work if they share the same jquery.js

Let me know how that worked.

Thank you!

Thank you very much for your information.
I changed the jquery.js with the 1.9.1 and re-compiled the scrollers, just in case.
I updated all the file on the server.
However, the swiping still does not work.
Do you have other clues?

Thank you,
Stephane

Hello Stephane,

As i thought so, the scroller itself works as expected on touch swipe.

I would recommend you to move these lines of code:
<script type="text/javascript" src="include/jcarousel/lib/jquery-1.4.2.min.js">
</script>

Note, make sure this removal of code does not cause any problems with your jCarousel.

Then, i think your scrollers will be fine on touch swipe 🙂

Let me know how that worked for you.

Thank you!

Thank you very much, it works perfectly.
I would have never thought of removing this old piece of code that I had completely forgotten.
You have been a great help.
