Dear Ladies and Gentleman,
my Admin told me to contact you. He had done my webpage with Likno Software. Unfortunately it doesn't work with Safari. With IE and Firefox perfect. My Customers using Safari have problems, because no Buttons are shown at the Menu.
Do you know, why? Can you help me please!
best, Gerald

Dear Gerald,

The problem is that your menu has been compiled with a very old version of AllWebMenus that did not support Safari 5 (as Safari 5 was released about a year later and introduced some new incompatibilities).

I see that you have extended your Update Plan this March, so you are eligible to free updates up to March 2013.

Please download the latest version from your Likno User Area account  (and if required, also get a new Activation Code):

download latest AllWebMenus version

Then please recompile ALL your menu projects, and upload the new compiled files (including the “awmdata” folder).

This will make your menus support all the latest browsers and mobile devices.

Let me know if you find any problems.

Regards,
Kostas

Support Case Month: June 2012

Hello Guys:
Knowing it's probably me, at 66 it seems difficult to grasp all of this.
Here is my problem: On our main site if you mouse over on the 4th button down you will get a 3 item SUB group, all works well. BUT if you click on the button that opens the sub-group (Parking Decals) it will generate a 404 error. Your requested file or folder URL, /sid:1051 cannot be found at the specified location.
This structure is imported from Front Page.
Thank you for any help you provide with this.
Bill

Dear Bill,

I checked your site and noticed that this is true for all menu items that have a submenu. It is likely that this is due to some FrontPage incompatibility.

Do you have actual pages that should be shown when clicking on a parent item? or do you want the parent items to simply not have links?

Also do you believe you could send us a zipped version of your FrontPage project so that we can try to reproduce the problem?

Hello Kostas:

> It is likely that this is due to some FrontPage incompatibility.

PLEASE don’t forget it could be something I did!  🙂

> do you want the parent items to simply not have links?

NO links for the parent buttons, just a place holder to open and pick from the sub. (this could be the problem)

> Also do you believe you could send us a zipped version of your FrontPage project so that we can try to reproduce the problem?

Do you mean the  generated menu files or the complete site, the site is 12+ megs.

Just to make sure I am setting FP up correctly let me attach a partial view of the FH Navigation structure.  (see attached)

I used a custom link bar where ever I needed a sub. I am not sure if this is correct, It’s the only way I could make this work!

Hello again,

I see that your parent links are not linked to standard pages (as is usually the case):

parent links not linked to standard pages

What is this link icon I see there? Are these HTML pages?

Also, if possible, please check the folder where you store your website.

If you have admin rights, you should be able to see a hidden folder named “_vti_pvt” and within this you should see a file named “structure.cnf”.

Please send me this file so that I can forward it to our developers.

The guy who did all of the for 13 years moved out of state the first of the year to care for his parents. Sad smile

The structure.cnf file is attached.

This weekend I must have changed/compiled this menu 10 to 12 times with NO problem.

Just now I went in there to do a screen capture and got a invalid procedure for the first time in over a week? (Attached)

I also attaches a screen capture Partial from inside allwebmenu.

The places you have circled are the htm parent buttons that generate the error when you click.

Thanks again
Bill

Dear Bill,

Can you please download the latest AllWebMenus and see if this resolves the problem?

(our developer team told me they made some corrections in the latest build)
