November 22nd, 2012AWM: Compatibility issue with Internet Explorer
Knowledge Base support case for AllWebMenus, abstracted and stripped of all user’s private info.
Initial Email From: Mary
Initial Email Subject: Problems with All Web Menus - compatability with Internet Explorer
Support Case Month: October 2012
I have upgraded my All Web Menus hoping that my upgrading it would resolve the problems with Internet Explorer, but even with paying for the latest upgrade the drop down menus are not compatible with Internet Explorer. Basically, it was publishing correctly to Internet Explorer until the last update from internet explorer and now none of the boxes for the separate buttons come up. However, all the boxes (buttons) come up perfectly in Mozilla Firefox. You have compatibility problems with your webmenus and the latest upgrade of Internet Explorer. Could you please correct this problem as soon as possible to that I can correct and publish my drop down menus?
Sincerely,
Mary

Hi Kostas:
When we saw the problem with the drop down menus we had our website host pull up a backup of our website and publish that, so the error is not visible right now. Basically, when we publish our website there are no boxes surrounding each category. The categories are visible, but without any boxes around each category. The URL is

Dear Mary,
Sorry about this mix-up, I was confused by your first email and thought the “no boxes” issue was in Firefox – not IE.
Anyway, I now saw the problem in IE. It seems that this is generated by some old AllWebMenus code (from v3) that you have inserted multiple times in your page:
Removing this lot will fix the problem. However I recommend that you also clean up the rest of the code, as this also appears in other places in your page.
Finally I noticed that your two menus are compiled with different versions (builds 874 & 898). This is not causing any problems currently, however we recommend that multiple menus in the same page are always compiled with the same version in order to avoid possible problems in the future.

Kostas
