Dear Raul,

You should not copy the menu in multiple places. Instead, you only need to adjust the Linking Code.

In your page you have a Linking Code that looks something like this:

<!-- ******** BEGIN ALLWEBMENUS CODE FOR menu ******** -->

<script type="text/javascript">var MenuLinkedBy="AllWebMenus [4]",awmMenuName="menu",awmBN="GN";awmAltUrl="";</script>

<script charset="UTF-8" src="menu.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

<script type="text/javascript">awmBuildMenu();</script>

<!-- ******** END ALLWEBMENUS CODE FOR menu ******** -->

In order to fix the problem, all you need to do is to make sure the “src” path is correct for all pages. For example you could change it to:

src="/RGB/menu.js"

This way, it will work regardless of how deep your folders are.

Dear Kostas,
I had tried to write "/RGB/contacto.html" but then I had this error:
res://ieframe.dll/dnserror.htm#file:///RGB/contacto.html
Thanks for all.

Dear Raul,

This is something that definitely works online. For local pages, maybe you should use the full-path “C:\RGB\contacto.html”.

Support Case Month: October 2012

I have upgraded my All Web Menus hoping that my upgrading it would resolve the problems with Internet Explorer, but even with paying for the latest upgrade the drop down menus are not compatible with Internet Explorer. Basically, it was publishing correctly to Internet Explorer until the last update from internet explorer and now none of the boxes for the separate buttons come up. However, all the boxes (buttons) come up perfectly in Mozilla Firefox. You have compatibility problems with your webmenus and the latest upgrade of Internet Explorer. Could you please correct this problem as soon as possible to that I can correct and publish my drop down menus?

Sincerely,

Mary

Hi Kostas:

When we saw the problem with the drop down menus we had our website host pull up a backup of our website and publish that, so the error is not visible right now. Basically, when we publish our website there are no boxes surrounding each category. The categories are visible, but without any boxes around each category. The URL is

{URL REMOVED}

Mary

Dear Mary,

Sorry about this mix-up, I was confused by your first email and thought the “no boxes” issue was in Firefox – not IE.

Anyway, I now saw the problem in IE. It seems that this is generated by some old AllWebMenus code (from v3) that you have inserted multiple times in your page:

allwebmenus code

Removing this lot will fix the problem. However I recommend that you also clean up the rest of the code, as this also appears in other places in your page.

Finally I noticed that your two menus are compiled with different versions (builds 874 & 898). This is not causing any problems currently, however we recommend that multiple menus in the same page are always compiled with the same version in order to avoid possible problems in the future.

I have an example menu built up in the web menu builder that is really excellent, and I can see parts of it in my report page, but all of the pieces are not correctly displaying.  I am pretty sure that it is something that I am just not doing right.

I really like the flexibility.  This is going to be perfect for our team once we have the real example able to be demonstrated.

Thanks again for your help,

Mark

Dear Mark,

For the menu, it is possible that the problems are caused by the fact that you cannot add the Linking Code directly after the <body> tag  (which is the expected place to put it).

Please try checking this option in the Project Properties:

menu linking code within tags

One last issue that is serious that I must resolve.

We are planning using these menus as blocks in multiple places on the same page.  I just now discovered that the way that I have it configured now, even though I have separate paths and separate anchor positioning IDs, that it doesn’t want to put more than one of these menus on a page.  I desperately hope that you have a configuration option that will accommodate an unlimited number of menus on the same page.

Dear Mark,

Regarding having multiple menus (in the same page or in different pages- it makes no difference) all you should need to do is to change the “Compiled Name” of the menu in the Project Properties:

add multiple menus

You should leave the folders as they are by default so that all of your menus see the same library files.

Things to note:

1) All your menus should be compiled with the same AllWebMenus version.

2) You should make sure that you properly Compiled, Linked and uploaded your second menu as you did with the first.

3) There is no limit to the number of menus you can add this way.
