Hello,

Please visit the link provided. My problem is with the bottom "Home" link. How do I make the mouse over image appear in alignment with the bottom right corner of the "Normal" image? (note how the link jumps down the page (84 px ?!) upon mouse over.)

Robert

Hello Robert,

I assume that you have a submenu with one item that opens on mouse over, correct? (if not, please use "File -> Export" to send me the project)

In that case, just use a "custom" value for the Offset of that submenu which will be related to the images height:

menu alignment offset

Thank you.

Finally! Everything seems to be working except in IE (v9.0.12) where the submenu breaks float constraints (see attached image). Note the house with the smoke now falls under the link “{URL REMOVED}” when the window has been resized to allow the visitor to scroll below the bottom of the page. I have tested this in Opera, Safari, Firefox and Chrome and IE is the only one with this problem (surprise!)

Everything else works just like I want it to.

Please advise.

Dear Robert,

I just checked your page with both IE9 & IE10 and the menu seems to work just fine! do you still see the problem? If so, can you please send me a screenshot?

there was a screen shot attached to the original message. I have attached one here too along with the IE version. please note: I intentionally tried to break the navigation. once I had finished scrolling down the page I resized the window so that I could scroll down some more. that’s when it breaks.

Ok, now I understood what you meant and I was able to replicate the problem! This is because the script keeps the image within the browser window.

I will forward this to our developers for further consideration. Note however this will probably be treated as a low-priority case as it does not really affect a real viewer use-case.

I will let you know of their response.

Hi

I have a major problem with my menu built with AllWebMenus 5 Pro.

In Internet Explorer Version 5 to 9 the menu expands over the page.
I don't have any problems with Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Opera.

Please help and come back to me as soon as possible.

Regards,
Jan

Hello again,

According to our developers this issue is caused by the last item in your menu, which is set as a Full HTML item.

Specifically, you have a couple of images that do not have any width defined and have large title properties. In IE, the title property is instantly loaded before loading the actual image. If this is the first time you see the page, when the menu is generated and measures its items it finds the images still loading and taking up the space of the title. After the first time the images are cached, so you do not see this problem until you clear the cache files again.

The solution to this is to give a fixed width to your images in the HTML, for example:

<img style="border:0px; width: 140px;" oncontextmenu="return false" title="Vi &auml;r ett kreditv&auml;rdigt f&ouml;retag enligt Soliditets v&auml;rderingssystem som baserar sig p&aring; en m&auml;ngd olika beslutsregler. Denna uppgift &auml;r alltid aktuell&#44; informationen uppdateras dagligen via Soliditets databas." alt="Vi &auml;r ett kreditv&auml;rdigt f&ouml;retag enligt Soliditets v&auml;rderingssystem som baserar sig p&aring; en m&auml;ngd olika beslutsregler. Denna uppgift &auml;r alltid aktuell&#44; informationen uppdateras dagligen via Soliditets databas." id="img_144_148_px" src="{IMAGE URL}" />

I have one question, can you tell my why menu which i generated in allwebmenus don`t work on internet explorer? i work perfectly in firefox,  google chrome, opera etc. but  in internet explorer its don`t even appear

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello,
If you refer to IE9, it is possible that you are using a very old version of AllWebMenus that did not support it.
Please send me the URL so that I can check your page and tell you what is wrong for sure.

Hello

Here is a url to the website  http://www.hdprint.pl/test/pl/

Hello again,

It appears that the menu on your website was compiled with an *old* version of AllWebMenus (see “release history” here: http://www.likno.com/whatsnew.html ).

You need to update/upgrade your AllWebMenus and re-compile/re-upload your menu files, as the *old* compiled menu cannot support the latest browsers and standards. Some browser versions did not even exist by that time (e.g. IE9 was officially released in March 2011 and Safari 5 in June 2011 and both have known issues with your AllWebMenus version which was released in April 2010).

How?

- Login to your Likno User Area at http://www.likno.com/userarea

- Click the "View/Manage Licenses and Plans":

view manage menu licenses

- See there if your Update Plan has expired or not.

If "expired" then click the "Renew" link and renew your Update Plan.

- Download the current Version (Build) ( http://www.likno.com/download.html ) and install it.

- In your Likno User Area, click the "Get Activation Code" link and get a new Activation Code for this updated installation:

get activation code

- Open your old project file (.awm) in AllWebMenus, re-compile it and then upload the new menu files (along with the "awmdata" folder) to your website.

Note that you may need to delete your browser’s Temporary Internet Files (or cache files) before refreshing the page in order to see the menu.

Thanks!

Kostas

Dear Kostas

In this site http://www.espacereperes.be/artistes.php I use modal windows( by clicking on the image or the text like below)

But it seems not working with google chrome. With IE, opera, safari or firefox it is ok

modal window does not work

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear Roland,

I just checked your site with Chrome and the modal windows seem to work fine!

Modal window works

The only problem (visible in all browsers) is that the “close image” does not exist online, so you get a missing image instead.

Please try deleting Chrome’s Cache Files (using “Ctrl + Shift + Del”) and if you still do not see the modal after this, please double-check your plugins to see if any of them is causing the problem.

Let me know of your findings.

Kostas

Dear Kostas

I have done what you suggest, and it was the same

I fact, on the 1first loading of the page it does not work, after reloading (F5) it worked.

Now I have recompiled and re-upload, at it seems no more problems.

Concerning the close button, it have been resolved in the same time.

Thank you

I prefer to use Firefox but some visitors use IE. I just noticed that my menus are MUCH TOO WIDE in IE but they are fine in Firefox, Safari, Opera. I tried recompiling the menus but no luck. Before pulling my hair out, I thought I would ask you what the problem might be. Any thoughts?

Hello,

I checked your page and saw the problem. I created a local test-page from your own page, and noticed that the problem is only visible when you do not have a valid DOCTYPE in your page.

When you do not have a valid DOCTYPE in your page, then IE automatically falls into “quirks mode”, which is essentially IE5.5 Compatibility Mode. Adding a proper DOCTYPE in your page will fix this issue (and others you may see in IE).

However, the menu should be able to work even in quirks mode. Can you please export and send me the menu project so that we can further investigate this?
