Hello,
I saw your offer in Giveaway of the day.  Is there a way to use one of your products to create a menu that I can make one edit and all web pages will be updated to the change?  So I don't have to edit the menu file on all 15 pages.
Thanks
Ron

Dear Ron,

Yes. If you use AllWebMenus, every time you make a change you will need to:

1) open your menu project in AllWebMenus and make your changes

2) hit the “Compile” button

3) upload the compiled files online

This will automatically update all the linked pages.

(Note that you need to Link to your pages once, only the first time that you add the menu.)

My menus appear fine on the shop and catalog pages but don't appear on pages that show lists of products or on product pages.  Any reason for this?

Hello,

This is because these pages are into a subfolder and they probably take the menu Linking Code from a template that exists in an outer folder.

Please change your Linking Code from:

<script charset="UTF-8" src="../sidemenu.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

To:

<script charset="UTF-8" src="/sidemenu.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

This should correct the problem as it will always point to the root folder.

Kostas

Hello,

My name is Ravi. We bought the Likno Allwebmenus Software and it works excellent. I have created some menus for our website. In the following page http://acenseo.com/our%20partners.asp there is a menu with the list of partners. Initially, while creating the menu I have linked each tab to its respective partner page like Back to Partners work. But instead of redirecting to other pages the menu is prompting for a selection from the sub-menu. Is there any way it can actually redirect to the partners page and show the sub-menu for selection?

Please find the attached source file. Hope it helps.

Thanks in advance.

With Kind Regards,

Ravi

Dear Ravi,

I checked your site and saw the sliding menu. I assume that this is what you are talking about.

Please look for the following option and make sure that it is not checked:

menu link value settings

Dear Kostas,

The links are working now but the sub-menu is not showing up. Is there any way both can happen at the same time?

Dear Ravi,

Do you not see the submenus opening at all? Can you also try checking the “Remember the menu state” checkbox?

I purchased the menus tonight, all went well except I am having a problem linking the menu into a webpage.

When I create a link the web page gets the following code added.

<!-- ******** BEGIN ALLWEBMENUS CODE FOR menu (CSS MENU)******** -->

<link href="menu.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css">

<script charset="UTF-8" src="menu.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

<!-- ******** END ALLWEBMENUS CODE FOR menu (CSS MENU)******** -->

however there is no bit of code within the body part to actually display the menu.  I imagine that it should be <ul> <li>item 1 etc...

any ideas?

the version of dreamweaver I am using is 6.0 (MX).  I don't mind editing a few files manually but the procedure to link likno and dreamweaver looked a bit complicated....

thanks

Fergus

Dear Fergus,

If you want to use the UL/LI or CSS version of the menu, then you indeed need to manually add the Structure Code to each of your pages (or to a template page).

AllWebMenus helps you by giving you a sample structure to copy-paste into your page. You can find this here:

menu ul li structure

Please let me know how this worked out and do not hesitate to contact me should you need more help.

I have a website and want to add an additional main item on the existing menu. Do I have to compile the menu to each existing page that the menu is currently displayed on in order for the change to take place or is there a way to just save the changes to the menu file and upload that to the server.  There are many pages and so if I don't have to compile each page it would be easier.
Thanks
Harvey

Hello Harvey,
You just re-compile the menu and upload the compiled files on the server (both "menu.js" and the "awmdata" folder files) and this is all.
Every page just has a link to that menu, so no need to re-link, etc. You just make the change, re-compile and upload the compiled files.
