2 questions:

1. want to install the software to 2 separate PC systems. One at home and one at work. Do i need 2 licenses?

2. Also it is written that in one year expires. What this means? Do i have to purchase a new program every year?

best regards

Apostolos

Hello Apostole,

1. The AllWebMenus license is per seat. This means per machine installed.

2. Your license never expires; only its "Update Plan" expires. This means that you can always download and apply an Activation Code to the latest build released before your Update Plan expires but not to builds released there after. If you choose not to renew your Update Plan in one year from now, you will still be able to use AllWebMenus with the Build released 1 day before that year ends (but you will not be able to update AllWebMenus with any Builders released afterwards).

When are licenses renewed, annually or when?

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello Joe,

When you initially purchase you can choose the duration of your Update Plan. The default period is 1 year (if you do not choose a longer period which gives you some discount).

Just note that the "Update Plan" is not a "subscription" that is "required" to continue using the product. You can renew any time you need to get the new features or fixes but you can still use the latest Build that your Update Plan permits.

Initial Email Subject: Update plan vs Support Plan
Support Case Month: May 2012

Dear Likno,

I need some more explanation on the Update Plan and Support Plan. Can I get clarification on how the two plans work?

My Update Plan expires on 27th April 2013, what does it mean to me? Does it mean I will no longer be able to receive updates? What's it?

My support plan ends on 27th October 2012. What does it mean? Please let me know this clearly before it's too late.

Secondly, when I purchased the AllWebMenus, I downloaded it and started using it straight away. But I still see in the Users' Area in my Account that I still have 3 more activations left. what are those activations?

Please let me know.

Best regards,
Charles

Hello Charles,

1. The "Update Plan" Expiry Date means that you will be able to work with any Build released prior to that date, FOREVER.

It is just that you won't be able to get updated versions after that date, unless you extend the Update Plan (usually at $29.95).

Your license never expires; only its "Update Plan" expires. This means that you can always download and apply an Activation Code to the latest build released before your Update Plan expires but not to builds released thereafter. If you choose not to renew your Update Plan when it expires, you will still be able to use AllWebMenus with the Build released 1 day before that Update Plan ends (but you will not be able to update AllWebMenus with any Builds released afterwords).

I believe this clarifies how the Update Plan works.

The "Support Plan" is not for updates but for your right to ask questions and receive answers on certain implementation issues you may have on your websites. You are not required to renew this in order to receive updates, it is just for the Support questions.

2. The 3 activations left means that if you format your PC you can get another Activation Code (for 3 times) during your Update Plan. Still, if have problems with your PC we can give you more reactivations, provided that these reactivations are not used on multiple PCs (this is why there is a limit). In general, this is not something to worry about as most users use just one of the Activation Codes.

Support Case Month: October 2012

Uggh! Now when I recompile my menus with the latest version of your program, I can't view them in the "Live View" of Dreamweaver any more.
This is pretty annoying since now to proof a menu I either have to create a test directory and upload the site there or take my chances and put it on the live site (which I really don't like to do) until I've seen that it looks and works right.

Would you suggest I downgrade back to my earlier version until you've had a chance to look into this?

Just one small note that I just noticed. Your website says my support expired on Aug 21, 2012. But, I renewed it just the other day.

Thanks,
Steve

Dear Steve,

Regarding the “Support Plan”, this is indeed expired but you do not need to worry about it. What you have renewed is the Update Plan.

The distinction between the two is that:

1) The Update Plan allows you to get the latest versions and updates

2) The Support Plan allows you to ask us “how do I”-type questions (and was mostly introduced to control users that abused our free support policy)

Regarding the “Live View” however, there should not be any change between different AllWebMenus versions on that aspect! The menu should always be visible in the “Live View”.

If you still want a previous version I can arrange that for you. Just tell me which version you want to use and I will send you a direct link.

I don't know what to tell but…

I reinstalled Ver. 5.3 Build 896 and now "Live View" is working again. Yea!

Hello!

I wonder when my support plan ends in july, will I still be able to install the program after that or am I just not able to take part of updates? Thank you in advance.

Regards

Mathias

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear Mathias,

Your Support Plan has expired in January, and it represents the “learning period” as it allows you to ask “how do I” type questions regarding AllWebMenus. Of course you can always email us for questions like this or cases where you believe there is a problem with the application.

The Update Plan (which expires on July) denotes the time until which you can get any new release for free. After this expires, you will always be able to download and activate the latest version that was released within your Update Plan, but you will not be able to activate versions that were released after the expiry of your Update Plan.
