Knowledge Base support case for AllWebMenus,  abstracted and stripped of all user’s private info.

Support Case Month: December 2012

When I protect a page that has one of your menus on it , the menu does not display on the protected page.  I have tried this  on two different sites using two different themes.  The native WordPress menus work fine on protected pages, but yours do not display.

I searched your knowledge base and did not find any posts on this subject.

Thank you,
Bruce

Hello again,

I just checked your site and it seems that the menu does not have any items. Are you sure that in your WordPress menu setting you have these items set to be visible in protected pages? I mean, if you did not have AllWebMenus, would the standard WordPress menu show at all?

I just checked my site and the menu is properly populated and working every except for the protected directory; and, yes the standard WordPress menu works fine on the protected page.  I had checked this using two different themes (responsive and Graphene ) with the same results – standard WordPress works fine, and your does not on protected pages.

Dear Bruce,

As I said in a previous email, the problem is that the menu is never populated, so this seems to be an issue related to the WordPress plugin.

I will try to replicate the problem in a local server and will let you know as soon as I have something.

OK – I figured out what I was doing wrong.  I misunderstood  what hide password-protected
items meant.  I unchecked the box and now things work as expected.  I hope that I did not waste
too much of your time.

uncheck hide password protected items in WordPress

Again, I appreciate your patience in this matter.

Dear Bruce,

I am glad you found out what the problem was and thank you for sharing this with us.

I am sure that more users will fall in this trap in the future, so it is good to know of this option to suggest it next time.

Let me know if you run into any more problems.
