Support Case Month: July 2012

I am trying to display two separate menus on the same webpage. One is horizontal and the other vertical. I have linked both menus to the webpage using the compile function. Each menu has a different name. Both are positioned using the element option. The menus are compiled into the awmdata folder. The awmdata folder and the .js scripts are in the www.ok-safe.com/ root path. The horizontal menu displays and the vertical does not. The menu type that is not displaying is #15 - Smooth Scroll. The allocated space of 1200 x 500 for the menu is evident but no menu (see above URL). I am at a loss as to why the #15 menu type doesn't display. What is the likely problem?

Hello,

It seems that you have set your vertical menu (“Randy_Bright_Smooth_Scroll”) to be populated in the page using a UL/LI structure.

However there is no such structure in your page, hence your menu has no items! Note that when you select the UL/LI method, you have to enter the UL/LI structure in your page(s) manually.

I suggest that you set the menu back to being populated within the application:

populate menu inside project

Let me know if you need anything else.

Kostas

Support Case Month: March 2012

Hello,
My website is still in the making however I've noticed something I would like to correct.
On the leftside column, please scroll down to 'BAMBOO BATH RUGS",  Click on that link and it will take you to the page where you can request more information.  Please click on "Click to view image ....
Now click on the image and you will notice that my Menu appears OVER the image instead of in the faded background along with the rest of the site information.  I would like to see the menu faded out as well.  How do I achieve this?
Thank you
Celia

Dear Celia,

Your Lightbox has a default z-index of 100 and the menu has a default z-index of 1000, hence the later appears on top.

Please change the menu z-index to (for example) 50 to resolve the problem:

menu z-index property

Initial Email Subject: Changing positioning from "relative" to "fixed"
Support Case Month: December 2012

I am trying to change the position of my menu from "relative" to "fixed".  On my test page I have a header set with "fixed" position so that long pages will scroll underneath it.  I would also like to have the menu stay in place while the page scrolls.

I cannot, for the life of me, find the file that contains the css code to accomplish this.  What file do I want to edit?

Thank You,
Bruce

Dear Bruce,

What you want is to set the “menu floats on scroll” property:

menu floats on scroll settings

This will make sure that your menu never moves a pixel from its original positioning, and everything else will scroll beneath it.

Sorry, but that did not work.

menu constant floating

But adding this change made it work.

menu position relative to window

Thanks for the prompt response and for putting me on track.

December 29th, 2012AWM: Menu floats on scroll

I,m having trouble keeping the menu at a fixed position. The menu is linked relative to the navbar div, and this div is set to fixed position at the top of the page, under the header area which also has a fixed position div assigned to the header. Like so

<div id="wrapper">
  <div id="header"></div>    (fixed position)
  <div id="navbar"><span id='awmAnchor-topmenu'>&nbsp;</span></div>            (fixed position)
  <div id="sidebar"></div>
  <div id="content"><?php include "system/contentload.php";?></div>
  <div id="sidebar"></div>
  <div id="footer"></div>
</div>

So when you scroll, the header and navbar stays in fixed position but the menu scrolls out of its navbar  div container.

I cant give you a link I,m working in wamp.

Help would be sincerely appreciated.

Regards Rick

Support Case Month: May 2012

I am having a hard time inserting allwebmenus on a sharepoint 2010 master page. I am not sure where to put the code. i have the reference to the .js file right after the opening Body tag in code. I am placing the anchor tag after <div id="MSO_ContentDiv" runat="server"> in the body. I have tried placing the anchor tags in different places in master page but keep coming up with an error or the menu just not appears.
Thank you! I really like your menus and use them all the time. Have used the menus in sharepoint 2007 as well and it worked fine.

Dear Darlene,

I checked your page and noticed that you have two menus linked, each compiled with a different version of AllWebMenus. Note that this can cause problems and you should always make sure that all menus in a site are compiled with the same version.

Let me know if you need more specific help with something.

Good morning, thank you for getting back to me. The url that was in the contact form isn’t the site with the issue. The site that I am having a problem with is protected so it is not accessible. But the site is a SharePoint 2010 site. I have the menu appearing on the page now but it stays fixed and does not scroll along with the page.  Any ideas on how to make the menu scroll along with the contents of the page?

Thank you,

darlene

You need to set the menu to “Float on Scroll”:
