Hi -

Can I put a black frame around the border?

THANKS!
-Janine

Hello Janine,

You can change the border of the main menu group to your desired settings and the result will be like in the attached screenshot. In case,  this is not what you want and you want to have extra border out of the menu, you can do that in your CSS stylings of your positioning element.

Let me know if you need more information.

Thank you!

Hello,

I have the positioning working now on both the desktop and laptop screens.   Made adjustments in CSS and HTML.  Having said this, and the fact that I have four screen versions set up in the project, I really don’t understand how to use this feature.
Do I really need more than the default setting?  If I need to cover other screen sizes, just how do I do that and what resolution values should I use?

Thanks for your help throughout this issue I had.

Darold

Hello Darold,

The responsive feature of AllWebMenus gives you the ability to create 4 different versions of your menu according to screen sizes.

So, you are able to have up to 4 versions of your menu and set the screen size for each version. Then, each version of your menu can have different content, styling, positioning. For example, you might want to have a horizontal menu for the desktop version, but a vertical sliding for the mobile version. Each version covers a range of screen sizes, in this way 4 versions are enough to cover all sizes.

Let me know if you need any further information.

Thank you!

Do you have an example of how to set multiple versions up to include a mobile version?

Thanks, Darold

Hello Darold,

If you choose the responsive feature in AllWebMenus and leave the default values are enough to have your menu for Desktop/laptops/tablet/mobile devices.

According to the screenshot below, the version 1 would be served for screens over 960px, this means that this version of the menu will be appropriate for laptops/desktops.

Version 2 will appear in screen between 768px and 959px, so this will appear in tablets on horizontal view.

Version 3 will appear in screen between 480px and 767px, so this will appear in tablets on vertical view.

Version 4 will appear in screen below 479px, so this means in mobile devices.

Is the above of a help to you?

Great explanation. Thank you.  Now… do I have to set up different Content, Styling and positioning for each of these versions?  If so, what are default settings for each?  BTW, the explanation of the Responsive Menus feature would be a great addition to your manual.   Don’t recall seeing this level of detail in it.

Hello Darold,

Indeed you can have different Content, Styling and positioning for each of these versions. If you need to use the same, just use the CLONE functionality after you make a change to one of these, it is very handy:

clone feature in responsive menu

If you mean default settings for the width, you will find them there but you can change them to anything you like. The other default values are the ones that a non-responsive menu would have.

Support Case Month: May 2012

Hi,

I have a website that has a menu created using an older version of AllWebMenus Pro, specifically "DHTML Menu Created using AllWebMenus PRO ver 5.2-#806.   I need to update the menu to work with modern browsers including Safari.  Unfortunately the original developer is no longer around, and we do not have access to the menu project files. Once we purchase the latest version of AllWebMenus Pro, could you tell me what theme was used to create the menu for this site, www.esp-inc.com?   I've looked through the examples and could not find one that looked exactly the same.

menu theme

Thank you,

Simon

Dear Simon,

It looks like the “Meltingbar” theme, which is in the default horizontal themes included with the application.

However it seems that you used only the submenu styling and not the main menu styling. This can be easily achieved if you select the specific theme and then copy-paste the style in the Style Editor:

(use right-click)

copy menu style values

paste menu style values

sub group copy style values

paste style values

Thank you very much for the detailed response.  I was going to mention "Meltingbar" looked similar - thanks for giving me the workaround.

In a previous response, you stated that Likno was going to update the AllWebMenus to be responsive by October. Based on the information on your website, it seems that you have completed making these menus responsive. Were you planning on doing something different or is this information the updated one.
Responsive menus (for your responsive website layouts or standard websites).

You can choose your menu to alter its presentation or behavior on different devices and screen widths, in any of the following 3 ways:

- Different styling
- Different content
- Different positioning

Hello,

Indeed the estimated date of release is still at late October. We are sorry that this entry in our "features" page is confusing, we added beforehand so that we can get some feedback from users that are looking for this feature. We will add a "release date" next to this feature, so that users are not confused.

When we will have some "testing" version, we will send it to you, so that we get your feedback. However, this will not be before early October.
