Good Morning,

I recently made changes to our menu bar and tried uploading it, but looks like after I did the upload the menubar is still the same before the changes.

Can you help?

Regards,

Starr

Dear Starr,

Is it possible that you forgot to delete your browser’s cache files? (a.k.a. “Temporary Internet Files”)

Please do this now and refresh the page to see if the menu changes.

If it does not, please double-check if you uploaded the correct file online.

Regards,
Kostas

Hello,

I deleted the temporary files, but the menu is still the same.

Do it maybe have something to do with the compiling of the menu?

menu compile

The other day it made me make changes/verify, but I'm not sure I did it correctly. I thought I did but I guess not..

I figured it out. I upload the wrong "menu.js".

Hello,

Please download the latest version of Likno Web Scroller Builder again (even if you think you have the same version) and recompile your project.

Hello,

I have a website that has had several of your menus on it since 2008. I just updated to v5.3 build 888 the new version today.  Updated the files to update the javascript, uploaded them to the server and still cannot see the menu’s in IE 9. Any suggestions?

Thanks
Rick

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Dear Rick,

I cannot be sure unless I see the actual page with the problem (so sending a URL would help).

My first guess however (if you indeed uploaded everything correctly) would be that you fixed the problem but the browser is still viewing old files. Please make sure that you deleted the “Temporary Internet Files” to make sure that you see what is online.

Thank you for the help, the url is

http://www.childrenssquare.org/

again, in IE 9 on a Vista or Windows 7 machine  you cannot see the menu’s should be one on the top and one on the left.

Thanks again
Rick

Indeed this is the case as we told you:

old menu libraries

It seems that although you compiled your menu with the latest version of AllWebMenus, you forgot to upload the new library files (“awmdata” folder).

Please upload these too in order to fix the problem, and make sure that you upload them each time you compile (especially when compiling with a newer version).

I've updated my software to the latest build 5.3 #886 and re-compiled and uploaded my menus for the above site but I can only see them in IE9 if I use compatibility view. Is that what should be happening?

Many Thanks

Keith

Dear Keith,

I double-checked your page in different computers and I do see the menu in all of them with IE9. Did you fix the problem in the meantime by compiling with a new version?

If you still see the problem, can you please try deleting the “Temporary Internet Files” in your browser and refreshing the page? it is possible that you are still seeing the old files.

Dear Miguel,

The problem with the preview (as you probably already know) is that the accordion does not fit in the page.

The problem with your actual page, is that you do not have a proper DOCTYPE and the page goes into “quirks” mode (i.e. IE5.5 compatibility mode).

Please try replacing this:

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"

<html>

With this:

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

Hello Kostas,

Hello I fixed this by adding another button.  thanks, but still a problem as indicated above.

Even with the extra Icon, or panel, the control is still messed up in IE, there is a scroller I didn't want on my page.

I've attached another image of the page after the fix.  It looks better but still loads whacky.  If you reload it reloads correctly.

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Hello again,

I checked and I see it fine! Did you try deleting your “Temporary Internet Files”? Maybe you are just seeing the old code still until you refresh the page.
