Have a customer complaining that they can only see their menu on some of the machines using different browsers. There seems to be no common browser.  Might work on IE8 on one machine and not on another IE8.

I cant duplicate on any machine but I know the customer is telling the truth.

I have the latest updates and recompiled and uploaded.

Dear Rich,

I checked your page with several browsers in different machines, and the menu is always visible!

Can you ask your customer for more info?

1) Does the menu stop working in specific pages or in all of the site?

2) Is it possible that the customer has disabled JavaScript in this specific browser where the menu does not show?

3) Is it possible to send us a screenshot of the “about box” of the browser that does not work? Also please tell us which version/edition/language of windows the browser is running on.

Kostas

I am trying to get the rest of the info.

Here is a screenshot from a IE9 machine.

The background is missing. You can see a drop which is part of the menu.

Once I removed the allwebmenu script from the page the customer is able to see a normal page with background but menu of course is gone.

menu has disappeared

Thank you for the screenshot. Unfortunately I was not able to find the problem from this.

There are two more things I would like you to check:

1) Please check your Internet Settings to see if your Security Settings are set to the default level. Having increased security can block all scripts including those of the menu.

browser security settings

2) Please check if you have any plugins installed in the browser. Sometimes badly-written plugins can create problems in other scripts of a page. If you do have plugins installed, please try turning them all off. If the menu then appears normally it means that the problem was in one of the plugins. In this case, please try enabling the plugins again one at a time to see which one is causing the problems.

I think I have it resolved.

It never was a menu issue so sorry for troubling you. The menu is white. The background was broke so you couldn’t see it. They kept telling me the menu was missing but until they sent the screenshot today I didn’t know the BG was gone.

The image for background had a full path and not just relative. I think their browsers were blocking the image because it was http://...

Haven't heard back from them but I am gonna guess its resolved.

Hi Kostas,

You had asked for a live link to show you what I mean about the Menu going OVER the contact box or Download Box.

Please click on this link. I hope this will help. (Any image in the Gallery section would work)... Then click on the yellow Download Button - and you will "see" what I mean:

http://studio.fodphotosite.com/media.details.php?mediaID=NDE1YzMwMTUyM

The Menu goes over the box which is fairly high on the page. How do I get the menu behind this box, but still visible as the main navigation?

Hope this makes sense and thank you so much for all the help and your good works.

Best regards,
Karen

Hello Karen,

It appears that you need to set the "Z-Index" property to a value lower than the "z-index" used by the modal window. I believe that the z-index of the modal window script is set to "999" and the menu is "1002" (but I am not sure if these are your actual values). If that is the case, then please lower the "Z-Index" property value to "900" (for example) and it should work. This property is found inside the "Global Properties" of the Main Menu.

allwebmenu not showing in safari  on this link...  http://www.easyclocking.com     but it works on the other menu i made here:    http://www.easyclocking.com/control-de-asistencia     please help i don't have the original .awm , is there any fix to this... i can send you the folder where is compiled, Thanks... I really need help

Hello,

The problem is that the first menu is compiled with an older AllWebMenus version that did not support Safari 5. You need to recompile the project.

If you do not have the original project, then I am afraid you’ll have to recreate it. This should be pretty easy, since the style is exactly the same as the other menu you have, and the items are all images.

Hello,

I visited your page, and something is *very* wrong there…

It seems that in the index page you have several dozens of Linking Codes! How did this happen? Did you add these yourself?

If not, then can you please tell me about your setup? Which software are you using to edit your pages? Are you using an AllWebMenus  plugin/extension (if applicable) for this software?

Found one problem fixed it… dupe menu now the other one on about.htm

Reply From: Likno Customer Support

Yes, now the index page works properly! The “about” page still has too many Linking Codes.

I am really curious as to how this occurred? I’ve never seen something like this.

Hi,

I need a menu system for a web project that uses JavaScript rather than CSS to trigger submenus. The reason is I am integrating this into a file that has a lot of other CSS in it and it is interfering with my CSS only menu system. JS seems to work OK for other things, so I was hoping to find a product that triggers submenus (makes them visible with mouseOver) via JS, not CSS.

Does your product work that way?

One other point: I may be interested in having you guys build the menu system for this project, could you have someone contact me to discuss. The menu system is in place and works OK with Firefox and Chrome, but does not work with IE. I think we could avoid this problem with a JavaScript system.

Thanks,

john

Dear John,

Indeed with AllWebMenus your menus will work in all the latest browsers and mobile devices, without interfering with the rest of your page.

Building your menu in AllWebMenus is really easy, especially if you just want to recreate your current menus which are pretty simple.

I suggest that you try recreating your menus yourself – you can even do this with a trial version of AllWebMenus. Still, if this is what you prefer, we can build the menus for you for an extra charge.
