Hello Likno
I intended to update the menu for one of my sites, but before doing so, thought it would be a good idea if I downloaded the latest allwebmenus (5.3-898-4) and the latest wordpress plugin (AllWebMenus WordPress Menu Plugin v1.1.14). I also updated wordpress to the latest version (WordPress 3.4.2.). All of a sudden my menu disappeared. I have been trying to solve this for most of the morning without success.
Eventually I set up a brand new site with nothing on it except an allwebmenus menu and the latest vanilla wordpress to see what was going on and immediately it appears that the menu has located itself behind everything. (See test site http://www.estilinisteel.com/).
Immediately I attempted to adjust the Z-index number but it doesn't matter what number I use from 9999 to 100 to 1 to 0 to -100 - nothing works.
Can you help?
Thanks
Dave

Dear Dave,
I checked your test page and it seems that the menu is set to have “z-index: 2”!
Are you sure that you changed the z-index to a higher value and compiled and uploaded the menu properly? Changing the z-index manually did bring the menu to the front in my tests.

Kostas

Create any type of javascript menu (CSS menu, drop-down menu, sliding menu), button, html tree, modal window, tooltip, accordion, tab, scroller, jQuery slider) or design for your websites!

Hello Kostas
Thanks for your reply.
I have just changed the awm zindex to 1000 in menu.js
If you go to the test site http://www.estilinisteel.com/ you will see that the menu is STILL behind the main wordpress Banner image.
No, it’s not a cache problem or finger trouble 🙂
I’m stuck!
I keep thinking there is something that I have overlooked. Please take another look.
Thanks and Greetings
Dave

Dear Dave,
I found the following in your “style.css”:
This applies to the header element and everything below it, hence it goes over the menu.
Please try changing this to something smaller and give the menu a z-index of 9999 to fix the problem.

Kostas

Excellent detective work, Kostas
That does indeed fix it.
Please be aware that this was not my stylesheet but a wordpress file from their latest version – 3.4.2_2
You are therefore likely to come across this query quite often in future.
I wouldn’t much like your job! 🙂
Thanks again, I’ll go and repair my real site now.
Thanks and Greetings
Dave
