I am in the process of adding a WordPress installation to my web site. I will be needing to maintain *both* handcoded pages AND WordPress pages/posts, and would like to maintain a single menu for *ALL* pages. I have been using AllWebMenus on our site for a while now, and would like to use the existing menu that I maintain on my handcoded pages on my WordPress pages, too. I don't want to control any menu content with WordPress ... I want my regular menu and navigation to stay the same wherever a user is on my site. The WordPress plugin *seems* to be about imposing the WordPress menu structure into the AWM menu ... but I don't want to do that.

Here's a URL for an example of one of my hand coded pages that I will be keeping:
{URL REMOVED}

I would like to place the *SAME* menu into my WordPress header, which you can see here:
{URL REMOVED}

Is this possible to do? What do I need to do to accomplish this?

Thanks!!

Hello,

The WordPress plugin is there only to help you with the integration. It does offer you the ability to use the structure of a WordPress menu, but it does not impose this.

If you set the menu to be “Static” online, then you do not need to import the menu structure at all (you’ll hit the “publish” button in the plugin, but do not import the code into AllWebMenus). Just compile your existing menu for WordPress and upload it using the plugin “publish”.

Furthermore if you want a single compile, you do not even need to install or use the plugin at all. In this case, just manually add the menu Linking Code into the “header.php” of your WordPress Theme.

Just make sure that your positioning is ok. For example if you are using a positioning “Relative to Element” make sure that the specific element also exists in the WordPress pages.

Support Case Month: April 2013

Hello...love the program, but am having a major issue.  I have attempted to install allwebmenus-wordpress-menu-plugin a couple of dozen times, both through the wp-admin and manually via ftp.  Either way I do it, I get the following ERROR messages:

Warning: chmod() [function.chmod]: Operation not permitted in public_html/wp-content/plugins/allwebmenus-wordpress-menu-plugin/include.php on line 16
Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: Cannot send session cookie - headers already sent by (output started at public_html/wp-content/plugins/allwebmenus-wordpress-menu-plugin/include.php:16) in public_html/wp-content/plugins/allwebmenus-wordpress-menu-plugin/allwebmenus-wordpress-menu.php on line 128
Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: Cannot send session cache limiter - headers already sent (output started at public_html/wp-content/plugins/allwebmenus-wordpress-menu-plugin/include.php:16) in public_html/wp-content/plugins/allwebmenus-wordpress-menu-plugin/allwebmenus-wordpress-menu.php on line 128
Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at public_html/wp-content/plugins/allwebmenus-wordpress-menu-plugin/include.php:16) in public_html/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 876

Clearly, I am unable to activate this plugin.  I even reinstalled the latest wordpress--each time, wordpress indicated that the installation was successful.  Also, prior to installing the "allwebmenus" plugin, all my other many plugins installed without an error and functioned flawlessly.  Also, the same problem occurs if I activate a different theme to see if it was a problem with the theme itself.  While I realize that you are not WP support, I was hoping that you might have run across this problem before, or would at least be able to tell from the errors what the snag might be. Needless to say, I want to use AllWebMenus in my wordpress websites.  Thanks for any help you can give me on this....

Tracy

Hello,

It seems from the error messages that the plugin does not have enough permissions to work. Specifically in order for the plugin to work, it must be able to edit the “header.php” of your template and add the Linking Code.

You can try manually giving your “header.php” permissions “755” to see if this fixes the problem, or you can try giving all the plugin files (and especially the “include.php” file) full permissions.

Hi,

I have several of your products and have used them for years.   I had a very nice Web  Accordion installed on the front page of a customer’s site for the past 6 months.  Towards the end of December, his entire WordPress site suddenly failed.  I was able to recover it only be deleting the WordPress Plugin for the Web Accordion.  I just now, went back through the process of re-installing the WordPress plugin so I could attempt to set up the accordion again, but as soon as I installed it, WordPress crashed again.

Warning: Missing argument 2 for wpdb::prepare(), called in /home/mslater/public_html/wp-content/plugins/webaccordionbuilder-wordpress-plugin/webaccordionbuilder-wordpress.php on line 64 and defined in /home/mslater/public_html/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 990
Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: Cannot send session cache limiter - headers already sent (output started at /home/mslater/public_html/wp-includes/wp-db.php:990) in /home/mslater/public_html/wp-content/plugins/webaccordionbuilder-wordpress-plugin/webaccordionbuilder-wordpress.php on line 95

We are using current version WordPress 3.5

Please advise.

Thanks,

Sandy

Dear Sandy,

Thank you for letting us know about this! It seems that WordPress has changed some rules in v3.5 and this caused our plugin to stop working.

We have now uploaded a new version that should be fully compatible with WordPress 3.5. Please try this and let us know:
